  • 1989: Diploma theoretical physics, University of Bern.
  • 1989-1998: Research Scientist at the Astronomical Institute of the University of Bern.
  • 1997: Doctoral Thesis at the University of Bern.
  • 1998-1999: Visiting scientist in the Mission Analysis group at ESOC/ESA in Darmstadt, Germany and Tenerife, Spain.
  • 1999-2006: Head of the GPS research group at the Astronomical Institute of the University of Bern, responsible for the CODE (Center for Orbit Determination in Europe) Analysis Center of the International GNSS Service (IGS), responsible for the developments of the Bernese GPS Software.
  • since 2006: Professor at the Institute for Astronomical and Physical Geodesy, Technical University Munich and head of the Forschungseinrichtung Satellitengeodäsie that contributes to research and operations at the German geodetic observatory in Wettzell.
